The 1st player is Ray Jackson, the last freshman to earn their starting job and the least recognizable of the group. That doesn't take away from the fact of how good he was and that he played a key role on the team. He and other "Fab Five" player Jimmy King, were the only ones to play all four years at Michigan where he averaged 12 and 16 points in his Junior and Senior year. He entered the NBA draft but was not selected by a team. After the draft the New York Knicks picked him up and asked him to try out for the team. He did not make that team, or the other team he tried out for the Detroit Pistons. He was selected in the CBA draft later, which is a league about 2 steps below the NBA. He even played in our home city of Grand Rapids for the Hoops. He won the CBA rookie of the year award there. After that year his pro career was over and he moved back to his home town of Austin, Texas where he now runs a moving company and a non-profit organization helping youths socially, educationally and on the basketball court. Ray seems to like the life he lives now, even though he was the only one of them not to play a game in the NBA. He recently said, "It took me a real long time to get over not being able to do what the other guys are doing, but today I can honestly tell you that I'm happy." This is a blog that I created after reading the book Fab Five by Mitch Albom. These are some things that sprung to my mind. These are not summaries of the book, just things I though of.

What happened after the "Fab Five" - Ray Jackson
I was very interested after reading this book about researching a little more on what happened to each player after they played so outstanding at Michigan. These players were so popular to the basketball world during their two year tenure, that it was interesting to see just how they panned out. I'm going to research three of the five players, and write about each to show their post - "Fab Five" lives on and off the basketball court. Jalen Rose and Chris Webber most people know about, so the posts would not be very informational.
